It has been recently shown that premature mortality might be on the
rise in several Western European countries, France is one of these countries
showing the highest increment of premature mortality Zanotto [2017]. In
this paper we implement a more in-depth analysis of rising premature
mortality using Human Causes-of-Deaths Database data and applying
a hierarchial model. Preliminary results suggest a rising prevalence of
neoplasms deaths for men might have driven the premature mortality
trends of recent years.
